What Do You Do To Stick To Your Weight Loss Goals If You Are Addicted To Ordering Take Out?

What to do about being addicted to ordering take out is something that is rarely talked about. Maybe these diet professionals think everyone lives in a small town where the nearest restaurant is a million miles away? Well, whatever the case may be, this is something I personally had a problem with, and given that you are reading this article now, this tells me you are having a problem with this as well. Listen, if you are trying to lose weight, but you just can’t put that phone down and stop ordering unhealthy take-out food, then this article is just for you! Read on to see what I did to break out this habit…

There are typically 4 major reasons why someone would be addicted to ordering take out. I listed those reasons below, and I have also listed 4 solutions to each. Therefore, in order to stop the addiction, it’s not really a one-size-fits-all solution. You have to figure out why you primarily choose to order out so much, and check out my personal recommendation to help stop this problem. You could even combine solutions together to make it more of a guarantee to stop ordering out and start eating healthier.

1. Convenience – If you have a busy lifestyle, then there is nothing more better than just picking up the phone, looking at the menu to see what you want, placing the order, and getting on with your responsibilities.

My solution to this problem is to make large, healthy, and long-lasting meals that you can quickly prepare. One HUGE example is healthy soups. In fact, I have a gigantic batch of homemade chicken, tomato, beans, and vegetable soup in the fridge right now!

2. You Don’t Feel Like Cooking – This is BIG one! Most of the time when I felt the urge to pick up a menu and get an order in was when I didn’t feel like cooking. Is this something that causes you to want to order take out as well?

Well, what I recommend you do here is you can do what I mentioned above, or you could start making simpler healthy meals. You do not have to get super extravagant with your meals in order for them to be healthy, delicious, and filling. One thing I like to do is either grill or bake a batch of chicken breast on one day, individually wrap and freeze them, and then just take one out, put it in the microwave, get some brown rice and salad, and voila!

3. You Don’t Like The Taste Of Your Cooking – If you (or your family… lol) don’t like your cooking, then obviously the best solution here would be to practice and learn how to cook foods to make them more delicious. One of the best things I did was I watched the cooking channel (I still do by the way). There’s just something about watching those cooking shows that makes you captivated! Anyway, watching the cooking channel can not only give you great tips on how to make common foods, but they can also give you ideas for amazing meals, and they can give you the inspiration to cook. Having inspiration with cooking is HUGE because this will then transfer to how your food comes out.

4. Take Out Is Just So Delicious! – Living in the Philadelphia area, I am bombarded with high quality pizza spots and Chinese restaurants! I just can’t escape them! To make matters worse, a lot of these places are around my favorite stores I like to shop at… which then means I get to smell those cheese steaks with fried onions no matter where I go (lol)!

A good suggestion here would be if you are just so addicted to particular foods you get from your favorite take out spot(s), then I recommend making your own healthier alternative! You can make a healthier alternative for just about any bad food there is (healthy burgers, healthy pizzas, healthy pastas, healthy Chinese food, and more)!

BONUS Tip: Another recommendation I can give you is to make sure that the diet you go on creates a menu plan for you containing easy to make, delicious, nutritious, and fat burning meals. A diet like this is something I went on, and not only did it help me drop 52 pounds of body fat since the diet increased my metabolism, it also helped me not feel the urge to order take out food since I was eating delicious foods, and I was eating more often during the day.

This is the diet I personally used… and I wound up dropping 52 pounds of fat in 8 weeks… naturally and permanently!

So, if you are tired of being drawn to your phone to order take out instead of your stove to make healthier foods, then I highly recommend you give one or more of those tips above a try. They worked for great for me, and I’m sure they’ll work for you too!
