For dieting, low-carb, low-fat, low-calorie, and not getting enough protein in your diet will cause this to happen. For exercising, strictly focusing on doing cardio will cause this type of body to happen. Why does that type of dieting and fitness cause you to lose weight but still have body fat? Well, that type of dieting and fitness will cause you to lose MUSCLE and lose very little body fat. Instead of your body burning off fat, it will be holding on to it instead!

The Lean, Toned, And Sexy Diet And Exercise…

For dieting, eating plenty of protein, and getting plenty of all important nutrients in your diet (healthy fat, healthy carbs, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals) will make this happen. Also, eating more frequently during the day with smaller meals is important as well. For exercising, focusing more on building lean muscle (don’t worry, you don’t have to get HUGE muscles), and doing SHORT high intensity interval training (H.I.I.T for short), will help you get this type of body.

The Bottom Line?

It all comes down to your metabolism and muscle. If you diet and exercise in a way that does not increase your metabolism or it causes your metabolism to decrease, and if you are doing things that do nothing for muscle growth, then you’ll end up with the “skinny fat” look. If you diet and exercise in a way that increases your metabolism and causes your muscle to develop effectively, then you will end up with that toned and lean look.
