1. The first important part is going to be proper nutrition. Without it, NOTHING you do is going to work… period. Unfortunately for myself, I had to learn this important lesson the hard way!
I used to do a lot of exercising, and then thought I could eat whatever I wanted… WRONG! Proper nutrition is absolutely the most important part of losing weight, improving your health, preventing diseases and illnesses, and sustaining life.
So, what IS proper nutrition exactly? Well, this means eating many different types of nutrients. And this includes healthy carbs and healthy fats. If you restrict those types of nutrients (or any other type of important nutrient for that matter), you are robbing yourself of powerful health benefits and you will be making it more difficult to lose weight.
All the nutrients your body needs are protein, healthy fat (monounsaturated, omega fatty acids), healthy carbs (fiber, whole wheat), antioxidants, and foods rich in vitamins and minerals.
2. The second most important part is naturally raising your metabolic rate on a consistent basis. The faster your metabolism is, the faster you are going to lose pounds of body fat… and keep it off. This is why you are hearing about boosting your metabolism so frequently these days!
Now, there are many things you can do to help boost your metabolism, but there are a couple of things I wanted to talk to you about today in regards to choosing a diet program and increasing your metabolism.
A diet that is based around boosting your metabolism is certainly a diet worth considering. This is because it will more than likely be based around Part #1 above. Why is that? Well, it is impossible to boost your metabolism with typical fad dieting (low-calorie, low-carb, low-fat, celebrity diets, starvation diets, detox ONLY diets, etc.). So if a program is based on boosting your metabolic rate, it has to be based on getting proper nutrition.
How do you boost your metabolism with food?
There are 2 key things you can do, and these 2 key things were apart of the diet I went… and my results were nothing short of phenomenal! The 2 key things were eating every 2-3 hours (about 4-5 meals) and alternating the foods I ate around in a specific pattern created by the diet program (which also customized a delicious menu plan for me as well).
This worked extremely well because first off, this type of diet is based on eating ALL types of nutrients (part 1), and secondly, this type of dieting skyrocketed my metabolism… with food (part 2).
In the end, I wasn’t starving myself, I wasn’t fad dieting, I wasn’t taking diet pills, I didn’t go in for surgery, and I didn’t do anything else unnatural. All I did was follow this type of diet, I made sure I exercised at least 3 times a week, I got plenty of sleep, and I consumed a minimum of 1/2 my body-weight in ounces of fresh water daily (which I still do those things today by the way). This in turn caused me to drop over 50 pounds of fat in 2 months… and it was easy to do, fun to do, the results came consistently so I stayed VERY motivated during my journey, and I have not regain weight since!
