The way it works is you will eat very healthy for x amount of days, and then on specific days, you will have cheat days. This kind of program, as you can imagine, is very easy and fun to follow. Also, it works because it will cause a boost your metabolism. The only gripe I have with it is that some people may find it hard to stick to a diet like this if they are having a hard time doing away with the foods you love. If you are obsessed with particular bad foods (cookies were my kryptonite!), then I wouldn’t recommend a cheat day diet at first.

Intermittent fasting dieting…

This type of program is based around eating very healthy and nutrient packed meals on specific days, and then you fast on different days. Some people will immediately dismiss a diet like this since most people know that by starving yourself, you are only going to slow your metabolism down. Well, this is not the case with this type of dieting. You have to fast in a very special way in order for it to work effectively. In fact, with this type of program, it’s designed to actually skyrocket your metabolism and boost your bodies fat burning hormones.

Rotating calories…

This is the type of diet I went on that helped me lose 52 pounds in 8 weeks. Basically, it’s based around eating 4-5 nutritious and delicious meals a day. Eating more often is one of the biggest steps to boosting your metabolism. However, it is also based around rotating the calories you are eating around. Why is this the case? Well, if you eat the same way all the time, your body gets accustomed to this pattern and the metabolism will settle down. If you on the other hand strategically rotate (better known as shifting) the calories you are eating around, then you will keep your metabolism elevated and you’ll skyrocket your bodies fat burning hormones.
