If you have a lot of weight to lose, then this article is just for you. I’m going to share with you a mistake I made during my journey that not only caused me to stop getting results, but also caused me to give up a couple of times! If you would just take 2 minutes out of your day, you can find out what this one thing is that you MUST avoid doing… or you will certainly lose motivation with a diet and exercise program.
You see, when it comes to diet and exercise, there is usually always one IMPORTANT part that is always missed when folks are looking to get started. Most of us focus on which type of diet to go on, which gym to join, which exercise program to download, which class to go to, which personal trainer to hire, which gym clothes will make me look the most awesome (lol), and more! All of those things are okay (except the gym clothes part), but, there is one more thing that must be taken into consideration if you are ever going to be successful with reaching your goals…
Now, it is beyond easy to get motivated PRIOR to getting started with a diet and exercise plan. Most of us find this pretty easy to do. We end up with a ton of enthusiasm, we go out and buy the latest gadgets, the best diets, and so much more. BUT, just a little while into the diet and exercise program, that boat load of enthusiasm and motivation dwindles into the abyss!
There are many things that can cause you to lose motivation. Some of those things are going on an ineffective diet (such as a fad diet), not having a plan prior to beginning your journey, doing ineffective or very painful exercises, making things too complicated for you (such as joining a gym 14 million miles away from where you live… lol), and more. But, there is one thing that MANY people do that will certainly cause a loss of motivation, and this is something I did that ended up causing me to quit in the beginning…
And that would be worrying too much about the FULL details of dieting and exercising!
Now, when I say worrying about the full details, I’m talking about getting over analytical about everything. Placing a ton of emphasis on the amount of carbs, fats, calories, etc. that you are eating, wondering about what type of workout will do this or that, and so much more. Now don’t get me wrong here, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t pay attention to what you eat or what types of workouts you should do, I’m just saying that I highly recommend you avoid digging too deep into this stuff. Unless you are a professional bodybuilder, there is no reason to over analyze EVERY single thing you do.
So, if you are looking for a surefire way to MAINTAIN motivation during your journey, then please, make sure you just focus on doing the right things that are sure to help you lose weight and get fit. The right things are eating ALL types of nutrients, never starving yourself, going on an effective diet program (such as one of THESE top 5 diet programs here) that makes it easy for you to transition into a healthy lifestyle, doing muscle training exercises, and doing the right type of cardio.
