Worthless Calories…

Worthless calories (better known as empty calories) are calories that have no nutritional value. The problem here is that of course many bad foods are empty calories (sodas, sugary juices, etc.), however, there are also some so-called healthy foods that have little to no nutritional value as well! Go figure!

These foods would be things such as most fat-free foods (how ironic!), foods containing artificial sweetener, and any other food that has artificial preservatives in them. Eating these foods will unfortunately keep you unhealthy.

The best foods to eat are foods in all nutritional groups… period. A good diet program will be based on this principle.

Worthless Exercises…

Now don’t get me wrong here, ALL exercises are worth doing (unless they are unnatural and dangerous of course), but what I’m referring to as far as “worthless” is concerned are some exercises that A LOT of people do who need to lose weight, burn fat, and get in shape.

Many people think that doing some bicep curls and some other isolation weight training move, along with doing some type of cardio routine that doesn’t break a sweat, is all that is needed to get a killer body. This is far from the truth.

The types of exercises that bring about a killer body are shorter higher intensity workouts and weight training exercises that involve more than one part of your body. The reason why is because these exercise produce and PRESERVE muscle tissue, they increase your metabolism, they burn the most calories, and they burn calories… AFTER your workout is finished! And that’s just naming SOME things!

Worthless Diets…

This is BIG one! A very high percentage of people who want to get in shape will unfortunately end up wasting their time and money by going on one of those over-priced, over-hyped, unnatural, and ineffective diet programs that are advertised more than freaking car insurance companies (I can’t get “Hi I’m Flo, welcome to Progressive” out of my head… LOL!).

An ineffective diet consequently will not just stop at keeping you from reaching your goals, they also will come with some side-effects. Side-effects such as terrible digestive issues (bloating, stomach aches, constipation, irregularity, and more), headaches, a loss of energy, mood swings, strong hunger pangs, strong craving urges, and here’s the big one: YO-YO WEIGHT LOSS (you’ll lose weight and put the pounds right back on)!

Diets like this would be anything that tells you to reduce your calories significantly, eliminate nutrients from your diet (such as the low-carb or low-fat diets), flat-out starve yourself, only eat one type of food or only drink one type of beverage, etc.

Worthless diets will not be accepted well by the body… and that’s why those awful side-effects end up happening.
