1. I increased my water intake and decreased my sodium intake…

For one, drinking more water causes many great things to happen. You’ll build muscle tissue easier, you’ll have more energy, you’ll increase your metabolism, you’ll enhance your digestive system, and more. Also, if you are feeling bloated a lot, chances are you may be holding on to water weight, which drinking more water will get rid of… ironically. The key to this is to not just drink more water, but to also decrease your salt intake as much as possible.

2. I ate the protein portion of my meals first…

Doing this will speed up the signal to your brain that you are full. Therefore, you’ll stop feeling hungry all the time. So, the next time you eat a healthy meal (such as chicken breast, a baked sweet potato, and steamed broccoli for example), eat the chicken first!

3. I ate more often with smaller meals…

I’m almost 100% sure you have heard that eating smaller meals more often is a surefire way to boost your metabolism. Guess what? This tip that you have heard over and over again is 100% TRUE! Eating often with a smaller amount of calories each time increases your metabolic rate and decreases your hunger pangs.

4. 2 workouts a day…

And no, I’m not crazy! And no, I’m not talking about 2 long and extremely intense workouts either. I’m talking about doing 2 simple (but very effective and VERY quick) body weight workouts twice a day. These workouts are so effective, I was able to burn over 300 calories in 15 minutes… and I needed NO EQUIPMENT or DVD’s! What I did was 3 body weight exercises and I mixed and matched them around each time (to keep my body from reaching a plateau and to also avoid getting bored).

So, what I recommend you do is to pick out a few body weight routines (make sure one of them is a high intensity cardio routine such as running in place with high knees) and do them in a circuit 10 or more times each for at least 4 rounds. Quick, easy, POWERFUL, and will get you results. Don’t forget to warm up prior to the workout and stretch after. Also, be sure to check with your physician to ensure you can do this… or any other workout for that matter.

5. Head meet pillow, pillow meet head…

I got no less than 7 hours of sleep a night. Most people don’t realize this, but getting more sleep every night will do a TON of great things for your body. You’ll burn calories more quicker, you’ll build muscle tissue quicker, and so much more!

6. I reduced…

Simple carbs (white flour foods and foods high in sugar), bad fats (saturated fat… and ELIMINATED trans fat), and processed/canned foods. Reducing these foods alone will make a very significant change in your body. Your body HATES these types of foods (especially processed foods). Instead, I recommend that you eat as clean (natural, raw, organic, etc.) as possible as often as possible. Trust me, in one week, you’ll see and feel a huge difference!

Bottom line, all the above, along with the effective diet program I was on, caused me to naturally drop 5 pounds in one week… naturally. Try it out… stay consistent… and I can assure you… you WILL get amazing results as well!
