Sometimes no matter how hard you exercise or how compliant you are with your diet, some fat is just so stubborn it refuses to budge. This is often the case when people are trying to get a six pack and they are struggling with the last layer of fat on their belly. Trying their best to burn off the fat but to no avail.
In this article, I’ll show you 5 ways to fight the stubborn fat. To vanquish it and banish it from your body so that you are lean and toned.
The first thing you can do is to consume a high quality fish oil supplement. Our diet these days is overloaded with omega-6 when what we really need is omega-3 fatty acids. You can find these essential fatty acids in fish such as salmon, mackerel and trout. Sardines, scallops, herrings and even shrimp are good sources of omega 3 acids.
When you have sufficient omega 3 fatty acids in your body, your fat loss will be accelerated.
Another way to boost your metabolism will be to drink 3 to cups of tea a day. This can be oolong tea, green tea or black tea. Tea has been shown to boost fat oxidation and increase your metabolism. When you are fighting stubborn fat, every tool is an added advantage. Do note that it is preferable not to add sugar with your tea.
Eat fat to lose fat. This is a secret method employed by pro bodybuilders. It’s known as a ketogenic diet. They reduce their carbs to the bare minimum and consume lots of healthy fats such as avocados, natural nut butters, flaxseed oil, soybean oil, canola oil and other foods rich in omega 3 acids.
When you reduce your carbs to the bare minimum, your body will start burning its fat stores for energy instead of glucose. That’s when the stubborn body fat will be burnt off.
Sometimes you may need to increase your cardio workouts to maybe 12 sessions a week. This extra cardio will burn off the stubborn fat. Or you may wish to try out new sports that are strenuous such as Crossfit or kettlebell training. All these new workouts will shock your body and put it on fat burning mode again.
You may notice that you are suddenly losing fat rapidly. This is due to the fact that your body has just broken through a fat loss plateau and is making up for lost time.
The important thing to note is that the extra cardio and ketogenic diets are just temporary measures. Once you start burning the stubborn fat, you may tone down the cardio and slowly taper off the ketogenic diet.
You always want to keep your body guessing. This is what makes the body stay in fat burning mode. Change your workouts, rest days, diets, etc. Change up everything whenever you can. Do not get stuck in a comfortable rut. This is a sure way to hit a plateau.
If your body is constantly facing surprises, new challenges and diets, it has no time to adapt. It will burn the fat to cope with the new pressures. Lastly, some of your fats may have been there for years. It may take time for the body to finally decide to burn off these fats. Give it time.
