You may have just read that title and one of two things happened: One, you are jumping for joy right now and you can’t wait to find out what those 3 simple and effective ways to lose a lot of weight and body fat are. Or two, you are making a funny face indicating skepticism! Well, whatever way you may feel, in this article I’m going to talk about 3 things I did (and still do) that will help you drop pounds of fat and improve your overall health… WITHOUT REALLY TRYING!
Now, before I start, I just want to clarify that these methods do require INITIAL action in order for them to work by themselves. So, with all that said…
1.) One of the best and most recommended things you could ever do to ensure you decrease your body fat is to build lean muscle. Most people focus heavily on cardio, and that’s okay (if you’re doing the right type of cardio… which would be short high intensity cardio or high intensity interval cardio to lose fat, and then low intensity cardio to keep it off). However, if you need to get in shape, building lean muscle is VERY important. Why? Well, if you build lean muscle, your body will burn off calories WHILE YOU REST!
This is better known as the after burn effect. What this means is that when you build lean muscle, your body will continue to burn calories after your workout is done. The reason why this happens is because your body has to repair and rebuild muscle cells after a resistance training workout.
To REALLY increase this effect, I strongly recommend you focus on doing compound resistance training. This type of muscle-building workout involves using more than one muscle group at a time, and it involves using your larger muscle groups. Examples of this type of weight training would be dead-lifts, pull-ups, squats, etc.
2.) Another way you can lose a lot of weight and fat without doing anything (in a sense) is to start getting more sleep. You would be absolutely AMAZED at how quickly your body will start getting in better shape, how more energetic you will start feeling, how less stressed out you’ll start feeling, and more, if you start getting at least 7 hours of sleep nightly.
But, besides the wonderful benefits of getting more sleep, there is something else that happens as well. You could literally burn up to 500 calories while you sleep! This is because a good night’s rest will allow your body to repair muscle tissue, detoxify, and more, and all of that requires energy (calories)!
3.) And last but certainly not least, another way you can speed up weight loss and improve your overall health without much effort is to do deep breathing exercises! The reason deep breathing is effective for losing weight is due to the chemical in our bodies called cortisol. This chemical is released when you are stressed out, feeling anxiety, or if you are in a dangerous situation. The first 2 things (feeling stressed and having anxiety) are something that happens with a lot of us on a daily basis. Because of this, you may find it extremely difficult trying to lose weight. Why is that? Well, if too much cortisol is being released on a daily basis, it will then be stored in your body as extra fat!
One way you can fight those negative emotions is by doing deep breathing exercises! Not only will it decrease stress so that you won’t release cortisol, it also helps detoxify the body and increase your energy levels as well… plus MUCH more!
