1. Tell Soda What It Can Do With All It’s Sugar…
Use an empty 2 liter soda bottle (preferably I recommend you buy a cheap bottle of soda so that you can feel awesome and liberated pouring it down the drain! lol), and fill it up with fresh filtered cold water and use that to drink from throughout the day!
The benefits of doing this are quite a few. For one, you’ll be playing a little psychological trick on yourself if you are still addicted to soda which should help you get over the addiction. Second, you will obviously be getting a good amount of water each day if you drink the whole bottle (I recommend 1/2 your body weight in ounces by the way). Third, it makes it easier to drink water since you have the bottle with you. And lastly, it makes it easier to keep track of how much water you have had for the day.
TIP: To help ensure your water stays cold, I recommend that you fill a 2 liter bottle half way with water, lay it down SLIGHTLY (not completely) on its side in the freezer, freeze the water, take it out and fill the rest with cold water, and now you have a huge piece of ice in the bottle keeping your water cold! Sure does beat trying to push ice cubes in a small 2 liter bottle opening!
2. Go Ahead… Watch Your Favorite T.V. Shows…
Instead of being a couch potato, why not be a couch apple? (Sorry, I couldn’t think of anything else clever… lol). What I mean is, why not utilize the time that you are watching T.V. as a time to get your workout in for the day?
You can do this two ways.
One, you can do a full workout while you are watching T.V. Doing this will make a workout a lot smoother.
Or secondly, you can do a quick body weight circuit routine during each commercial break. For example, during a 3-4 minute commercial break, you can do something like: 20 jumping jacks, 10 push ups, and 15 body weight squats. During a full one hour show, let’s say they have 4 commercial breaks total. You will end up with 80 jumping jacks, 40 push ups, and 60 body weight squats! How cool is that?!
Bottom line, exercising doesn’t have to be a dreaded nightmare. You can make it fun… and still get amazing results.
3. Sleep MORE…
You hear and read so often about how being active as much as possible will only cause you to lose pounds more quicker. And that is certainly true.
However, getting more sleep will actually help you lose pounds quicker as well!
The reason why is because while you are sleeping, your body is still actively burning off fat while it is repairing muscle tissue (which is why it is so important to ensure you build lean muscle), and it is performing an array of other functions as well. If you are not getting enough sleep, then not only do you run the risk of being stressed during the day, eating more during the day (yes, a lack of sleep can contribute to overeating), and not having enough energy, you’ll also prevent your body from fully doing its job while you rest.
So, as you can see, there are certainly some pretty ironic and very simple things you can do to help lose weight quicker. Try them out and see if you can make your journey to getting the body of your dreams much smoother!
